Staying Agile Helps Us Stay in Business in the Time of Covid-19

We are still roasting and shipping on schedule, thanks to the support of our community and the hard work of our rock star staff. 


As a small coffee roaster located in the remote, rural region of North Central Washington state, the Covid-19 pandemic has been an unexpected blow that challenges us to operate with utmost efficiency and apply our best problem solving skills. 

What a week this has been! We've had to hunker down, focus on our core strengths and be willing to make some painful choices in order to weather this unprecedented storm, including switching to curbside delivery for our retail coffee bar, and laying off some of our much beloved staff. We're also seeing a significant number of our wholesale customers shutter their doors for the interim.

We've always known that retaining our customers is key to our success - and now more than ever! We are focusing on keeping our grocery store customers well stocked with 12oz bags and promoting online sales through our website. (A big shout out to all of you that bought Blue Star Coffee this week! We can't thank you enough.)

One of our superpowers as a team is laser beam focus problem solving. 


And luckily, we are agile. We have launched two new workaround systems this last week to keep the coffee flowing into your cup (at home).


Methow Valley Delivery Service

 

Starting next week we will be offering free delivery service to the Methow Valley of our freshly roasted coffee beans. If you live in Winthrop or Twisp, you can now sign up for a once-a-week coffee drop on your front step. Here's how:

Go to our website, choose your favorite bag of beans, select your grind preference and enter code ‘SMALLTOWNSTRONG’ at check out. (Be sure to use your physical address instead of a post office box, so that we can find you!).

Please place your order by Tuesday at 3pm for weekly delivery on Thursday. We will be making our first deliveries next Wednesday, April 1st (no fooling!)

This is a temporary service to help us all get through the Governor's stay-at-home order. We can do this together….6 feet apart...with zero contact...and plenty of coffee. ;)

 

Curbside Pick-Up with Joe Coffee Order Ahead Mobile App

 

You can now pick up your favorite drink or 12 oz bag of coffee from outside of our coffee bar by ordering and paying on your smart phone using the Joe Coffee Order Ahead mobile app. Zero contact and great service. It's easy - give it a try!
