Our current Roaster’s Choice, Yirgacheffe Natural Halo Bariti, comes from the wild highlands of Ethiopia.
We are proud to feature this beautiful coffee that was grown and processed in the ‘cradle of mankind’.

Ethiopia is nestled in a series of rift valleys in Africa where the oldest human remains were discovered and where our species is believed to have evolved and diversified in the last million years.

Unique geology led to the accumulation of sediments in the basins; creating ideal conditions for the proliferation of human life... and the ideal conditions for the magical plant that is now called ‘coffee’.
Ethiopia is the first region in the world that coffee plants were discovered, cultivated and consumed by humans.

Our Roaster’s Choice coffee comes from the Halo Bariti cooperative and is naturally processed. The dry climate there lends itself to natural drying and typically only takes 10-15 days for the coffee cherry to harden.
Yirgacheffe Natural Halo Bariti beans are small due to the high altitude, and yellow in color from the tanins in the coffee cherry.
We have roasted this beautiful and wild coffee to accentuate its sweet syrupy notes of boysenberry jam and bittersweet chocolate.
